Lorna Riemer joined the South Dakota Corn staff in April 2017. She attended South Dakota State University with a major in agriculture communications and a minor in journalism. She grew up on her family’s farm about 15 minutes west of Albert Lea, Minn. Her family raises corn and soybeans, and runs a herd of 150 head of breeding and feedlot cattle.
Riemer began showing cattle at the ripe age of 5 and was active in 4-H for 13 years, showing cattle and pigs, and partaking in photography. She also was in FFA for five years and participated in livestock judging.
At SDSU, she was active in Block and Bridle Club, served a term on the Ag & Bio Prexy Council and was a Little International exhibitor and staff member for three years. Riemer completed two internships. The first was with Davisco Foods in Lake Norden, designing computer-based training modules for new employees. The second was working for seven months as a marketing and communications intern with the SDSU College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences.
She comes to South Dakota Corn from Paulsen, an ag marketing firm headquartered in Sioux Falls, where she worked as an account coordinator.
