Sioux Falls Convention Center
On Saturday, January 18th at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, the South Dakota Corn Growers Association will be hosting their 28th annual meeting.
This year’s annual meeting will be loaded with valuable information for farming operations. The day’s lineup will include a couple of popular radio and TV agricultural personalities in Mike Adams and Mike Pearson.
Adams, host of the nationally syndicated AgriTalk show, will moderate the day’s events. He’ll also talk about agriculture in the U.S.
Pearson, host of the Market to Market TV show, will discuss the farm market outlook and global trends in his presentation, “What’s Driving Agriculture in the Year Ahead.”
This year, we’re bringing in a diverse group of experts for three panel discussions covering key topics: Nutrient Management and Regulations; Conservation Compliance Pros and Cons; and Sustainable Agriculture: A Plan for Collaboration.
Panelists will include Sarah Bittleman of the Environmental Protection Agency; Don Parrish of the American Farm Bureau; Pete Jahraus of the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Bruce Knight of Strategic Conservation Solutions; Warren Formo of the Minnesota Agriculture Water Resource Center; and others.
The panel discussions will cover important issues such as the South Dakota water quality, the effects of the Mississippi River lawsuit, nutrient management directives, conservation programs and crop insurance.
The lunch speaker will be Linda Etherton of the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance.
The evening banquet will include a nostalgic trip back in time with “That 60’s Show,” a high-energy, musical and multimedia production that salutes the 1960s.
There will a charge for lunch and the evening banquet. All of the educational presentations are free.
