Your yield potential depends on your spring preparation. Ag consultant Kevin Kimberley will show you how to attack your problems next spring with what you did last fall. In clinics sponsored by South Dakota Corn in conjunction with the Risk Management Agency, Kimberley will help you prepare for planting season, whether conditions will be wet or dry.
Topics will include:
• Avoiding problems in the spring
• Big yield robbers
• Dealing with wet or dry soil
• Tillage techniques
• Uneven emergence
• Cold water inhibition
Kevin Kimberley is widely known for his on-farm consulting with clients from South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois. In these free GrowingOn clinics, he will discuss issues he has experienced over many years of consulting and he will review problems that occurred in recent growing seasons. Big yield robbers in 2011 were cold water inhibition and cold, wet soils. Kimberley will advise clinic participants what to do next spring if conditions are dry or if conditions are wet. Because of many requests, his Feb. 15 clinic in Sioux Falls will focus primarily on no-till and strip-till farming.
Events will be held at the following locations:
February 13: Watertown Events Center - Spring Planting Clinic
February 14: Sioux Falls Convention Center - Spring Planting Clinic
February 15: Sioux Falls Convention Center - No Till & Strip-Till Clinic
February 16: Aberdeen, Dakota Events Center - Spring Planting Clinic
All clinics begin at 9am and end at 4pm. Admission is FREE.
