South Dakota Corn Growers Association (SDCGA)
Board Members
Scott Sperry - District 13
Scott Sperry grows corn, soybeans and wheat on his diversified farm near Bath, S.D. He is also engaged in a hog finishing operation. Sperry has been on the board of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association since 2000.
Sperry holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanized agriculture from South Dakota State University. He had always aspired to farm full time when the opportunity arose and in 1985 he bought a farm and moved home to make farming his living.
Over the years farming, Sperry says he’s learned one of the most important issues facing corn producers is trying to capture a fair return in volatile economic times.
In addition to his role on the SDCGA board, on which he’s held numerous executive positions, Sperry is also involved as a SDWG delegate, Crop Improvement Association, Soil Conservation District vice president, JV Pork Chairman and TWP clerk.
Sperry and his wife, Kathy, have 5 children: Erica, Emily, Mark, Michael and Matthew. In his spare time, Sperry enjoys spending time with his family and vacationing.
