Bill Chase - District 8 - President

Bill ChaseBill Chase lives near Wolsey where he farms corn, soybeans and wheat and maintains a cow/calf operation. Bill was raised on a farm north of Huron and started farming in 1976. Bill has served on the SDCGA board since January 2001 and is currently the board’s President, elected to the position in January of 2008.

Bill and his wife Kathy have four sons: Benjamin, Joseph, Nathan, and Spencer. In his free time, Bill enjoys attending his children's athletic, academic and music events.

In addition to serving on the SDCGA board, Bill is also a member of the National Corn Growers Association Production and Stewardship Action Team, Supervisor of the Theresa Township, Vice President of the Wolsey School Board, and a second grade Sunday School teacher at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Huron.

According to Bill, the most important issues facing today's corn producers are the combination of low commodity prices and high production costs.
