David Leiseth - District 6 - Treasurer
David Leiseth lives in Hayti, SD, where he farms with his brother Paul. His operation consists of corn, soybeans, and wheat. David has served on the board since 2002. He is the current Treasurer for the organization, elected in January of 2008.
David attended college at South Dakota State University and graduated with an Ag Business degree. David said he chose the farming profession because, “I enjoy working with the land and I like the challenges you have to over come as a farmer.”
David and his wife Lisa have four children: Mason, Tristen, Faith and Gracelyn. In his spare time, David enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
The most important issue facing today’s corn producers according to David is “public awareness of bio-technology and ethanol and the high production costs to farms.”
