Jeff Burg
SD Corn Growers Association
• District 7

Like many boys who grow up on a farm, Jeff Burg always wanted to spend the rest of his life farming.
So, after graduating from Wessington Springs High School and earning a bachelor’s degree in ag business from South Dakota State University, he headed back to the farm. There, he raises corn, soybeans, small grains and alfalfa. The family operation also has 600 spring and fall calving cows and a 3,500-herd beef feedlot.
Burg said the most important issues facing today’s corn farmers are commodity prices that are below the cost of production, and federal and state regulations.
Burg is Chairman of the Wessington Springs Township Board and serves on the Farm Credit Services board of directors.
His family includes his wife, Kim; two daughters, Sierra and Cheyenne; and one step-son, Shawn. In his spare time, he golfs, fishes and travels.
