SD Corn Utilization Council
• District 3
Laron Krause joined the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council board of directors in 2015. He raises corn, soybeans and wheat on his farm near Clear Lake. He also is a partner in Supreme Pork, a farrow-to-finish operation, for which he finishes hogs.
He’s no rookie when it comes to serving on boards of agricultural associations. He is past president of the South Dakota Soybean Association and also served on the South Dakota Pork Producers Council board.
A graduate of Clear Lake High School, he studied production agriculture at Canby Vo-Tech in Canby, Minn. He started farming with his father in 1978 because he enjoyed production agriculture while growing up on the farm.
Krause said the most important issue facing today’s corn producers is government regulations.
In addition to his commitment to agricultural organizations, he has served on community boards and his family is very active in the United Methodist Church. He likes to spend his spare time with his family. He and his wife, Jolene, have three children: Tiffany, Adam and Brent.
