Chris Nickeson

Chris Nickeson represents District 4 and farms south of Langford, SD.
Nickeson has always had a love for agriculture. He grew up on a family farm in Veblen, SD. He attended Lake Area Tech, obtaining a degree in precision agriculture. After graduation, Nickeson worked for Wheat Growers (Agtegra) as an agronomy associate. In 2016, he began farming with his father-in-law. Their operation consists of corn and soybean rotation.
Nickeson said, "The most important thing as a farmer in my opinion is capitalizing on the foreign export markets."
Additionally, Nickeson currently serves as a delegate on the Agtegra board and as a volunteer fire fighter.
In his free time, Nickeson enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and time with family. He and his wife, Shauna, have two children: Brynlee (5), Wyatt (3.5) and a third on the way.
