Corn Yield Contests
Each year, the National Corn Growers Association sponsors a nationwide corn yield contest that also dual-enrolls participants into a South Dakota Corn Growers Association contest.
Growers can compete in various categories, using advanced production techniques and growing practices, state-of-the-art hybrids and their own special formulas. Winners receive national recognition as well as awards from sponsoring seed, input and crop protection companies.
This event is a testament to the commitment of corn growers across the nation to improve yields with innovative practices. Participants are required to be SDCGA members and may not have refunded in the past year.
Mark your calendar Early entry: May 1 - June 30, 2026 $90 per online entry plus a one-time affiliated State/NCGA membership fee (if applicable)
Final entry: July 1 - Aug. 12, 2026 $125 per online entry plus a one-time affiliated State/NCGA membership fee (if applicable)
Harvest entry: Aug. 13, 2026 - Nov. 30, 2026 Yield Contest
Winners will be announced Dec. 15, 2026
