Margaret Pennock

Director of External Affairs

Having grown up on a family farm in Ottosen, Iowa which her mother currently manages and her brother operates; Margaret was a typical farm kid and is no stranger to walking and then spraying beans, detasseling, picking rocks and harvest season.

After graduating from Iowa State University, she moved with her husband Marty to South Dakota. Margaret has been in the communications industry for thirty years having worked for an advertising agency, a healthcare system, a technical college and most recently as Director of Workforce Development for a South Dakota association.

As empty nesters she and her husband moved into a vintage farmhouse on an acreage in Beresford and have been renovating ever since! Margaret’s children, Brandon and Amanda, have followed in their father’s footsteps and currently serve in the Army. Brandon works as a nurse in Sanford and Amanda is entering her final semester at Iowa State University to become a Veterinarian and serve active duty in the Vet Corp.

Margaret is excited to share why South Dakota corn farmers are critical to our state and nation’s economic success!
