Welcome to Corn Comments! I'm Brooke Higgins, Natural Resources Specialist for NRCS and Cattle Rancher in Leola.
We are brought to you by the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, a volunteer group of farmers who promote corn marketing in this state, the U.S., and around the globe.
Earth Day is April 22, but on South Dakota farms and ranches, every day is Earth Day! Farmers and ranchers are dedicated stewards of the land, protecting soil, water, and air for future generations. They invest in soil health through practices like cover crops and reduced tillage, efforts that benefit both the environment and their operations long-term. By caring for the land today, they’re ensuring it can continue to produce food, fuel, and feed for generations to come.
