Welcome to Corn Comments! I'm Dave Ellens, President of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. We are brought to you today by the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, a volunteer group of farmers who promote corn marketing in this state, the U.S., and around the globe.

As we pause to celebrate Presidents’ Day, it’s important to highlight the role agriculture plays in our country’s history. Sixteen U.S. presidents were raised on or managed their own farm or ranch operation.

Agriculture touches every American; however, it has been 20 plus years since the United States has had a President with real-world agricultural experience. That’s why grassroots organizations, like the South Dakota Corn Growers Association, are important. We work to increase the profitability of all South Dakota corn farmers through our membership. We also work to ensure in-state corn grind remains strong now and in the future.
