Corn Comments - July 2026 USMCA Update

Recently, Ambassador Jameson Greer with the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced that the US did not agree to renew the US Mexico Canada trade agreement in its current form. The agreement will however remain in force as negotiations continue. This means that the officials will be required to discuss the agreement each year until reaching agreement to renew it or until it automatically expires in 2036. Our most important trading partners are Mexico and Canada. We export corn and ethanol and efforts are continuing regarding the approval of E10 ethanol policy in Mexico. The USMCA facilitates agricultural trade with two of our most significant corn and corn value added markets.
