Sioux Falls, South Dakota (1/22/2024) – The South Dakota Corn Utilization Council presented a $100,000 check to Feeding South Dakota at their Annual Meeting this past Saturday.

"South Dakota corn producers work to produce a product that provides affordable fuel and food for our state, nation, and world," said Chad Blindauer, President of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council. "This gift to Feeding South Dakota is an opportunity to directly impact our neighbors facing hunger, right here at home."

In South Dakota, nearly 73,000 people are food insecure - lacking access to the food they need to provide nutrition to themselves and their family. Through a variety of programs and agency partnerships Feeding South Dakota provides food access in every county of South Dakota.

"Our ability to put food on the tables of those facing hunger starts with the work of our South Dakota Farmers," shared Lori Dykstra, CEO of Feeding South Dakota. "This generous gift will help us sustain our programs while meeting the rise in need we've been experiencing."

This is the second year the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council has made a large gift to Feeding South Dakota.
