Sioux Falls, March 6, 2023 – Chad Blindauer, President of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council (SDCUC) and advisory member of the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) shares, “We are pleased to see that the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has requested technical consultations with Mexico regarding their intent to ban the importation of biotech corn. As President of the SDCUC and advisory member of APAC to the USDA and USTR, protecting trade agreements that directly impact the ability for corn growers in South Dakota to maintain crucial trade relationships is critical. Our priority is that the trade flow with Mexico continues effectively without disruption. The faster this issue can be resolved the better for corn growers in South Dakota.”
