One day before South Dakota State and the University of South Dakota football teams play in the inaugural South Dakota Showdown Series game, presented by South Dakota Corn, the website sdcornshowdown.com has been launched.
The site allows fans to track the South Dakota Showdown Series standings throughout the year. It also includes student-athlete bios, information on the points system, the history of the rivalry, and a picture of the trophy that will be awarded to the university that compiles the most points at the end of the season.
There is also information on how fans can help both universities and South Dakota Corn raise money for Feeding South Dakota, the state’s primary hunger-relief operation.
Officials from SDSU, USD and the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council announced on Nov. 8 the South Dakota Showdown Series, a new, year-long collegiate athletics and academics competition between the two universities.
