Meeting the growing demands for food, feed, fuel and fiber is something that America’s farmers have been accomplishing for decades. But with human populations rising around the globe, the need to meet those demands in a sustainable manner have never been more important as farmers strive to become more efficient while having a minimal impact on the environment.

To measure and promote sustainability efforts, ag, conservation, restaurant, retail and other groups have collaborated to form an alliance called Field to Market.

Field To Market works to create opportunities across the agricultural supply chain for continuous improvements in productivity, environmental quality, and human well-being. The group provides collaborative leadership that is engaged in industry-wide dialogue, grounded in science, and open to the full range of technology choices.

Leading Field to Market is their CEO Rod Snyder who will be speaking at Ag United for South Dakota’s annual meeting this coming Tuesday, December 9th in Sioux Falls at the Hilton Garden Inn South (I229&Louise). The meeting will run from 11:30am-1:00pm. To get a complimentary ticket, please call their office at 605-336-3622 or email [email protected]

Snyder will speak about the future of sustainability, the Field to Market alliance and how the world will be able to feed 9 billion people by the year 2050.

“This is great opportunity for South Dakotans to learn more about the efforts being made in agriculture today to not only protect the environment, but feed a world growing by 200,000 people a day,” said Ag United for South Dakota’s executive director Steve Dick.
