This year South Dakota Corn had eight farmer cooperators across eastern South Dakota who planted 81 different corn hybrids from 18 different seed companies.
Unfortunately one plot was hailed out, but the others provided good data with some exceptional yields during the 2014 growing season.
South Dakota Corn would like to thank the local seed representatives and those past/present farmer cooperators who have made this type of independent, ongoing research possible for South Dakota growers to review.
“This lasting and non-biased research provides South Dakota farmers with an extremely valuable tool when making their seed decisions for the coming years,” said South Dakota Corn Growers president Keith Alverson, who has been showplot cooperator himself since serving on the board.
“The years of data available on sdcorn.org allow our fellow farmers to see how certain hybrids performed under different climate conditions across South Dakota, with different soil types and farming practices,” added Alverson.
