In late March, Farm Journal administered a National Corn Growers Association survey regarding fertilizer which illustrated that 36% of farmers still needed to purchase some of their phosphate fertilizer and similarly 40% of farmers still needed to buy nitrogen.

A new review of the countervailing duty imposed upon Moroccan phosphate imports recently began to work its way through what is generally around a 9 month process from start to finish at the US Department of Commerce.  Countervailing duties are intended to protect domestic industry from injury.
