The South Dakota Corn Growers Association (SDCGA) elected officers to serve the organization in 2009 during their recent board meeting held in Pierre on February 19.
Bill Chase of Wolsey, S.D., was elected for a second term as president for the SDCGA. Chase has served on the SDCGA Board of Directors since 2001 and was first elected president in 2008. Chase is also on the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Public Policy Action Team.
Gary Duffy of Oldham, S.D. was elected vice president for the SDCGA. Duffy was previously a board member and president for the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council (SDCUC).
Jim Thyen of Waverly, S.D. was chosen as secretary for the SDCGA. Thyen has served on the SDCGA board since 2002. Thyen is also on the Production Stewardship Action Team for NCGA.
David Leiseth of Hayti, S.D. is the treasurer for the SDCGA. Leiseth has served on the SDCGA since 2002.
Chad Blindauer of Mitchell, S.D., was chosen as chairman of the SDCGA board. Blindauer has served on the board since 2001. Blindauer is also on the SDCUC board of directors and is vice chairman of the Biotech Working Group for the NCGA.
