National FFA Week

The South Dakota Corn Utilization Council is proud to be a 4-Star Partner* of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Star Partners provide financial support to meet the needs of FFA students who are future agricultural leaders, creating a pipeline of employee development for the production, business, and science sectors of the South Dakota agriculture industry.

To its owner, the FFA jacket is a physical reminder of the personal accomplishments achieved through the organization – a symbol of commitment and dedication for all who wear the corduroy.

This fall, a record number 450 South Dakota FFA members from 84 chapters, will receive their own FFA jackets – carrying forward that long-standing tradition of pride, dignity and honor.

Jackets were sponsored by various individuals through the SD FFA Foundation program, welcoming new members into the fabric of FFA. FFA members filled out the Blue Jackets Bright Futures FFA Jacket Program application, answering short essay questions about their FFA experience and goals, competing to earn their own FFA jacket instead of purchasing one.

The South Dakota Corn Utilization Council Blue Jackets Bright Futures FFA Jacket 2023 recipients are:

  • Hudson Blase - McCook Central
  • Brooke Heumiller - McCook Central
  • Preston Naber - Miller

*The Star Partner Program support provides resources for the South Dakota FFA Association, South Dakota FFA Alumni, South Dakota Association of Agricultural Educators, South Dakota FFA Foundation, post-secondary agricultural events, the South Dakota Center of Farm/Ranch Management and agricultural education at South Dakota State University.
