November Farm Bill FYI with SD Corn Executive Director, DaNita Murray

Welcome to Corn Comments, brought to you by the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, a group of volunteer farmers working to market and promote corn here in this state, the US and around the globe. I’m DaNita Murray, Executive Director for South Dakota Corn.

The US House of Representatives Farm Bill extension would continue its authorizations for a year, Title I programs such as PLC and ARC through crop year 2024 and also includes an extension of funding for smaller programs, such as the pesticide use survey, which received a half-million dollars of mandatory funding in the 2018 farm bill and $100,000 through Sept. 30, 2024. As EPA continues its work on crop protection, it is vital that the USDA helps to provide accurate use data to that agency, so that decisions are based on the best available science.
