SD Corn champions American Ethanol, NASCAR partnership

Posted on December 02, 2010

The South Dakota Corn Utilization Council is proud to be a part of American Ethanol, and their new partnership with NASCAR. American Ethanol, a group led by Growth Energy, includes nearly 100 different entities from individual ethanol plants to the National Corn Growers Association to biotech companies that are rallying around NASCAR to communicate their ethanol message.

The partnership comes after an announcement by NASCAR that all cars will be fueled with E15, a blend of 15% corn ethanol and 85% gasoline starting in 2011.

“The American corn farmer’s productivity goes unmatched throughout the world which allows us to meet food and feed demands while producing a clean-burning, domestic fuel that’s reducing our dependence on foreign oil,” said David Fremark, South Dakota Corn Utilization (SDCUC) President and farmer from St. Lawrence, SD. “American racing fueled by American corn ethanol is a great partnership that will help educate all Americans about the value corn ethanol has on our nation’s economy, energy security and environment.”

As part of the multi-year agreement, America Ethanol will be highlighted on every vehicle running in a NASCAR race and be prominent on NASCAR’s Green Flag. In addition, American Ethanol will sponsor a new award for every race, be featured on-site race day events and more. American Ethanol will support drivers, teams and tracks with marketing, promotional activities and advertising.

“NASCAR and American Ethanol are ideal partners,” said NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France. “NASCAR is a great American sport in its third generation of family ownership, and ethanol is produced from the harvest of family-owned farms across our country’s heartland.”
