South Dakota State University Extension along with industry partners will be hosting the Western Corn Belt Precision Ag Expo on March 17 & 18 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The event will be focusing on tools that allow farmers to increase their production and profitability.

Those who have adopted and invested in any facet of precision technology understand the positive impact these advances have had on yields, overall efficiency and sustainability.

With these advances happening rapidly, being able to understand and digest these emerging technologies can be difficult for anyone on farm, regardless of age. Which is why SDSU Extension is hosting this two-day clinic, to educate family farmers about what’s available in precision agriculture, to explain how to use these tools and to discuss what the future holds.

There will also be presentations about the future of biotechnology, population management, grain storage and a breakdown of the new farm bill.

As an added bonus, Ag PHd radio with Brian and Darren Hefty will be broadcasting live each day from the expo focusing on drainage and machinery.

The expo will feature in-depth information about:

Precision ag management systems and profitability

Troubleshooting precision hardware

Top yielding producer practices

Drones & their impact on farming

The future of plant breeding

Information on the new farm bill
